Acid problems
I was just banded and need more advice.....I have had a strange pain in my stomach....thought it was just gas but my mom is convincing me that it is probably acid....
I had surgery in Mexico and will likely never see my doctor again. I have an appointment in 6 weeks to meet with a doctor here in the states for fills etc. I don't want to pay $150 to see him early over something simple like acid or gas so I'm turning to all my friends on OH!!! :)
Did anyone have acid right after surgery? If so, did your doctor prescribe you something for it?
Thanks in advance,
Katie

Most of us do have gas pains for a week or two after surgery. For gas...walk, walk, walk. And yes acid can be a problem too. My doctor gave me chewable Pepcid to take for the first few weeks after surgery. I also had liquid Lortab for severe pain, but I don't like to take strong meds, so I took over the counter liquid Tylenol Adult strength. You definitely need to see a doctor right away if the pain is severe, or if you can't get liquids in, or it causes you to vomit. Good Luck.

Open the capsule and put the med in a bit of yogurt to swallow or just shake onto your tongue and drink some water...don't try to swallow a capsule this soon....good luck.
Heating pad where it hurts helps the CO2 gas from surgery (they blow your belly up like a balloon) dissipate...gas-x helps with swallowing a bit of air when sipping your water. Walk, drink your water and you will be feeling great in a few days!
