what I had to do was sleep in my lazy boy chair . the bed was just to uncomfortable for me .  It really  helped and I was back to sleeping on my tummy about a week after my surgery with a twinge of pain here or there but not enough not to sleep on my tummy lol.

It took a while, since I had to sleep on my back and I can;t usually fall asleep that way. AND I had that damned CPAP machine, which was a nightmare to sleep with.

Do you have a recliner? Sometimes sleeping in one can help . . .

I am a total stomach sleeper, like the others said, a recliner or pillows on both sides an OTC sleeping aid or prescription one if needed. It does get better each day. Get better soon. Welcome to the losers bench!

I slept on my couch for the first week because my bed was so low that getting out of it took way too much effort.  After that, I moslty slept on my side, but for a while after the surgery, I could feel my port poking if I was laying in a certain position.  but I am now back to sleeping the way I used to, kinds on my side and kinda on my stomach.

Hi Crystal (it's Kath!!!)

I used alot of pillows --- and tried to sort of sleep on my side, but it was tough for the first week.

I used a heating pad to help with the soreness -- and since I did not need pain meds, I took liquid extra strength tylenol and a little liquid benadryl to help me sleep --

I would love to hear how you are doing overall.

I slept on my side, but I put a pillow under the edge of my belly to keep it from pulling over...made me so much more comfy. I also put a little one between my knees. Good Luck!

I built kind of a pillow nest and slept at kind of a 45 degree angle.  I'm a side sleeper normally.  I used to always sleep on my right side but I've actually found, since my surgery, that I'm more comfortable on my left side.

I was back to sleeping on my side (albeit the opposite one) about 10 days after surgery and back down to just the one pillow about a week after that.

I tried the pain meds (liquid lortab) for a few nights but they gave me the worst nightmares so I just took some Tylenol instead.  (The capsule kind... not the tablets).
