I will be 5 weeks out tommorow and was wondering if any of you remember when you were able to tolerate salads? Thanks for the help.

Not even a little.  I am 2 months out yesterday and salads are just now something that I can really handle with no worries.  And when I saw no worries, I still have to cut the lettuce into really small pieces and eat them VERY slowly.  If they don't have any sort of lean protein on them, I almost don't think they are worth it at this point.

But...everyone is different.  You may find them absolutely perfect for you and have no problems whatsoever.

The only lettuce I can tolerate is Romaine and I am two years out in two weeks. But everyone is different. If I believe correctly, it wasn't suggested in my nutrional plan until several weeks out. High fiberous vegetables can cause issues with some people.

I've read that for some, salads are like a slider food and it goes right on through and some can't tolerate them.  I chew very carefully.

I had one for the first time in February and it felt like a lump in my chest all day.  (It also happened to be the day before I went for my first fill).  My doctor said some can tolerate it and some can't.  I happen to be one that can't, which stinks cause I love lettuce.    So far this is the only food I have had a problem with.

I was about 6 or 7 weeks out. I chopped the lettuce really fine and chewed really well. I had missed my salads so much.

I will be 5 weeks out on Thursday (banded 2/17/11). I have been eating salads just within the last week but have not had any issues. I make sure to eat protein first or at least add some protein to my salad. I chew very well. I won't go in for a fill until the 30th of this month. I hope to continue to tolerate salads as I love them.
