Docs differ! But my post op full liquids/purees were anything I liked as long as  the consistency was appropriate. So I just made (or bough if I felt lazy or was pushed for time!) a soup I fancied, added chick peas or lentils for added protein and blended until smooth.

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

I used soups that I liked pre-banding, such as campbells bean w bacon.  Just threw it in the blender and used chicken broth to thin it.

As Kate posted, doc's differ.. so you need to check with your doc or the nutritionist or dietician who works with the bariatric practice (assuming there is one).

I don't know if you have Safeway where you are, but I got their soup (in the deli self serve), Southwestern Black Bean, puree'd it, heated it up (4 oz at a time) and topped it with a bit of grated parm and rf sour cream...one of my faves.
Make sf instant pudding with nf milk and your protein shake mix...

Progresso lights are good, my program allowed anything we could get thru a wire mesh strainer, and of course, no forcing anything thru the strainer.  I really liked campbell's broccoli and cheese, diluted w one can skim milk.  heat it up then strain.  very tasty.  also, i enjoyed campbells french onion diluted w one can water, then strained.  delicious.

I drank a lot of tomato sup. I would add whey to it for protein. Sometimes I'd add peanut butter to it and let it melt. I also did a lot of Campbells 98% fat free broccoli cheese. But it does carry the side effect of gas. Drs do vary. Mine allowed any creamy soup with the chunks strained out.

I was allowed to have creamy soups at day 3 post-op.

I bought cream of chicken and cream of mushroom and i added a little but of picante sauce juice to spice them up a little bit.

I sometimes added a little bit of Unjury plain protein powder -- and mixed it really well while the soup was cold -- then slowly heated (not to a boil -- the protein powder breaks down and clumps if heated to boiling).

I had cream of tomato and it was GOOD.  I added some beneprotein to it whi*****reased the thickness without really changing the flavour.  Add some benefibre in there too.  I also had turkey vegetable and blended it.  Good luck!
