Went to see my surgeon. He asked if I'm able to eat at least 4 oz of food. I told him yes, very slowly, but then I added that the band seems tighter in the am. By the afternoon, I'm able to enjoy flat bread pizza from a restaurant around the corner from my job. I just eat it very slowly, chewing chewing and swallow....

Well, he was not happy with me. So with that, he inserted another cc into my band. I now have 9 cc's in a 10 cc band.

My lap band is my best friend. If i treat it with respect, kindness, and love it will love me back!

It works if you work it!!!

Congrats on the weight loss. I am the same way. I feel more restriction in the morning than I do in the afternoon and evening.

I'm tight in morning also and lunch I really meausre food..but when I get home from work and eat dinner I can eat like theres not band there..I  have to make sure I don't over eat cause its really easy for me to do that. I only have trought eating dence meat..they get stuck so I won't bother for a while..its too scarey for me...I see my assistant doctor wed. this week and aking for a fill. I only got 1 fill with a 1 cc. in a 10cc band.  I also had my band 12/15/10 like you a few days before. I know I didn't loose this month not matter how hard I tried..too much food..I think..

I don't think anyone really knows! But it is extremely common! The best suggestions I have seen are that fluid in tissue shifts during the hours of sleep from lying down and being semi-immobile or that, for some people, small amounts of mucus build up. Also dehydration can make some people feel tighter.

My nit says they used to think people were imagining it but that it is so very common that now they accept it as real! Just can't fully explain it.

Why on earth wasn't he happy with you? What you describe is what I call good restriction.

REALIZE Band on 12/20/10 with
 Hi Suzanne,

You and I had surgery one day apart.  I will be having my second fill on the 31st of this month.  My first fill was 6 cc. I am also down around 30 pounds.  I can't imagine why your surgeon would be unhappy with you, I think it sounds like you are doing everything they told us to do.  10 lbs a month on average is pretty darn good.  I go from feeling like I don't need another fill to being able to eat anything and everything.  TIme of day hasn't seemed to make a difference to me yet.  My biggest challenge is telling the difference between full and stuck.  I am still learning and getting better at this though and it sounds like you are too.

Good job IMO

Pam
