chest hurts when food gos down

 Im not sure how to explane this but I have been feeling a little bit of pain in my chest, it happens only for a second then it stops. Almost feels like its the food that is going down, but like it said it kida of hurts. I just had sugery a fewdays ago so is this normal?

If you just had surgery a few days ago you should still be on liquids. What are you eating? You are still swollen from surgery. Call your surgeon with any pain.

If you had surgery a few days ago, you''ll most likely notice a lot of different little pains. I'm thinking that your esophagus might just be a little irritated, causing the pain in your chest. The esophagus has to work hard to get food (and even liquids) down, so that's probably what you're feeling right now... the esophagus spasming a little.

If it continues or if you're worried that something is really wrong, definitely call your doctor. Better safe than sorry!

I am almost 4 weeks out from surgery and I had that pain/discomfort too.  If I drank too fast, it felt like a mini-heart attack...didn't last long but it hurt.  Hope you feel better.
