Band update--surgery
I had surgery today to remove my lapband a little over 18 months after it was placed. I had a good 7 months, but the rest have been problems, as many of you know. The surgery was so much easier than placing the band. I feel absolutely fine. The Dr. said that their were no adhesions, minimal scar tissue and no "cone shape" below my stomach which he sees often during band removal.
So, now I wait until the end of the week as to when I will have the sleeve done. I'm thinking it will be around the middle of May because the Dr. said initially 8-12 weeks; since I looked so good, it will probably be only 8 weeks.
I am so excited about all of this. It happened so fast after it was submitted to insurance finally. And we all are (even the Dr. and his staff) are still shocked that they approved it all.
I will post when I know my date!

Hi Jenn, I saw your post and was wondering what happened that you removed the band. I am 8 months out and am down 63 lbs..but I have trouble with what to eat and stuff, I am not a big cook dont eat much at all...I have had not to many problems thankfully, just when I eat to fast...I feel sick..I try and eat 3 times a day and I do have a "snacking" issue but for the last 3 months I haven't lost anything...I am thinking of joining Jenny Craig so that I can eat my 3 meals a day which is prepared for me..I loved their food last year I was on it and very successful...If you can give me some insight I would appreciate it..btw I am only at 3 ccs so do not have much restriction at all,.yet when the dr gives me 4ccs I get reflux..so I am at a loss!

If you want the full story, you can friend me!
But the short of it was, I got to the point where I couldn't eat the proteins I needed to eat. I had reflux problems once I got to a certain fill level.
When I got fluid taken out, I was too loose. It turned into a vicious cycle. I got sick of it (literally!) and started the process back in January to revise.
Good luck!
