I was in the same boat a few weeks ago.  I was tired of not using my tool...I was failing it!  I was eating too much because I had not had an adjustment in several months, I had slowed back down on my exercise, I was eating things that were "slider" foods.   So after I finally gave up the attitude of " I don't want to go back to the doctor because I'm ashamed of the weight I've gained back>>>>?"

I went back got a fill.....was too tight....went back had an slight unfill....Still had an additional .25 cc fill........... MAN WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!  I'm no longer starving. I can eat small amounts and be satisfied!  I've lost 11 lbs in two weeks and I'm feeling really motivated.

So my advice is go back and review all the "band rules", Start a journal for you feelings, moods, Food & Exercise, Go back to your surgeon to evalute your adjustment.

I remember you. You got your band a few wks. after I got mine. My band has failed me as well!
Wish I had never even heard of the band! :-(

One thing you never mention is restriction. If you never reach restriction............it's just like trying to lose weight WITHOUT the band! I have had 16 fills now and still no restriction!!! As I have since found out from reading on the forum...........MANY ppl NEVER reach restriction!!! Something that most Drs. fail to tell us BEFORE we get the band! Don't you think that was kind of an important detail!?

Anyway...........I'll get trashed for saying this, but I could care less at this point............
REVISE!

Maria...not going to trash you, but I have a question you may have answered before...has your band been checked for a leak??  Just curious.

I don't think that when someone has not necessarily been following the band "protocol" however, that it is prudent to advise them to "revise" without exploring other options first.  Surgery is serious business and should be undertaken only when one has exhausted all other options...

I think maybe u should consider getting a fill. That will help u. Then go back to the beginning and do that for like a week or two. Maybe all u need is like a kick start! Hopefully this will work for u. Anyhow , we are here for support! good luck and keep us posted!

Thanks for all your comments.  I believe I have 3cc in my band.  I don't think its too tight or loose, I think I have just figured out a way to eat around it.  I am a huge binge eater and the band has not stopped me doing that.  I know that if I want a large amount of something I will go for icecream or pudding or something soft.  Then I move up to more solid foods.  I take small bites and take my time.  I have gotten very good at know when I will be full but instead of stopping I will just go do something for a couple of minutes and then come back to the food.

I should see my Dr but I have since lost my insurance and there is no way I can afford to see her.

I need to do a huge personal reality check.

Thanks again for everyone's comments.

Call your doctor and explore all options before considering a revision, please.  I hope things work out for you

From your last response on this thread, Stiles, it sure does seem that you have refined your eating to work around the band. Been there, done that, and your descriptions of eating the wrong things, waiting until the signs of fullness subside, etc, sound very familiar.

I joined Weigh****chers a few weeks ago, something I thought I would never do again. Just writing things down and being accountable to weigh in weekly has changed my outlook, and because they are emphasizing protein, the band is starting to work again as it should.  I know you said insurance was an issue and WW isn't cheap, but maybe logging your food daily either on paper or online will help you to get started, and going back to the basics of protein first is a must.

Good luck, you have lots of good company here.
