Gaining Weight
I had Lap Band surgery december 2007 I went from 345 to 212 from 2007 till Jan 2010. Over the last year I have put about 50 pounds. How do I avoid this and lose the weight back. If I go get the band adjusted won't the Doctors say something about the pocket being extend since I am eating so much. Please advise. Is a weigh****chers plan better or getting the band adjusted and hearing the doc yell at me.

I would get a fill. If you can eat too much then you need to start with regular fills. I don't understand people that say their doctor yells at them. My doctor wouldn't do that... but either way my fear of gaining all my weight back would out weigh my fear of a doctor yelling at me. You need to go back to the basics and start following the Band rules again. You also need to start an exercise program that includes cardio and strength training. I started out exercising 30 minutes a day 5 days a week and have increased from there.

No point in having a band if you don't get fills! I would be horrified if a bariatric surgeon was unable to understand that obese people eat if they are able to! I don't imagine your pouch is stretched, simply that you need a fill. And if your pouch is stretched, you need to find out so the doc can help you sort it out.
So my advice, see the doc! Even if he did yell, the point is you need to see him!

Highest 290, Banded - 248 Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.
Happily banded since May 2006. Regain of 28lbs 2013-14. ALL GONE!
But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

You need to see your Dr. and face the facts. When was the last time you had an UGI done? My surgeon does one every year to check out the band and the upper pouch.
Your Dr. works for YOU. Sounds like you need to find out if you have stretched out your upper pouch or caused damage to your esophagus and then move forward. Why are you eating so much? Are you hungry or is it head hunger or just bad habits that have slipped back? You need to deal with whatever the issues are if you want to move forward, otherwise the weight will keep adding up. YOU have to decide which direction you want the scale to move.
Good luck,
Kristi
