Need some advice
It's going to happen! Almost all of us will find there are weeks and months when we seem to be doing nothing! Just keep on going - the pounds will go!
Fills don't make us lose weight! As you know! All they do is stop us eating too much and help dim hunger. if you are not eating too much and not getting too hugnry, don't get a fill! People say get one if you are not lsoing weight - not logical! Fills do not make you lose weight!!!
In your shoes, i would do nothing different at all. I would just be patient!
With the amount of exercise you are doing, certainly don't drop calories!
PATIENCE! So hard when the weight has been going so well!

Highest 290, Banded - 248 Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.
Happily banded since May 2006. Regain of 28lbs 2013-14. ALL GONE!
But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,
5.0 cc in a 10cc lapband (four fills) 1 unfill of .5cc on 5/24/2011.
.5 fill March 2012. unfill of .25cc May 2012. Unfill of .5cc June 2014.
Still with my lapband with no plans for revision. Band working well since
last small unfill.

~ don't drop your calories
~ change up your exercise
~ take your measurements monthly
~ IF you decide to let them give you a fill, keep it small. They can do fills as little as .1 cc (that's POINT 1).. .1 is very tiny, considering 5cc's is about equivalent to a teaspoon of liquid.. imagine 1/10th of a tsp... very small. The majority of my fills have been .2cc and they work and don't make me too tight.
But I agree, if you're not struggling with hunger, you don't need a fill. They can't force you to have one.. that would be assault.
re: exercise ~ look up HIIT (high intensity interval training) that works better than other methods to drop weight and lose fat according to many authorities. Basically it means pushing yourself at an activity until you're breathing hard and your HR (heart rate) is up, then you take a time of slower activity to recover, then push yourself again. Do check with your PCP to get cleared for strenuous activity.
I'm sorry I can't help with the hormonal surges. I guess that's one good thing about being post-menopausal. :(
It's very normal to hit plateau's, our bodies sometimes need a chance to regroup before releasing more weight. Hang in there, the weight will continue to come off if you continue to work at it.
I think you are going through a plateau. I know I've been through several! Your body finally figured out what has happend to it so it got used to everything.
My surgeon says to mix things up with my excersie once in a while to get the muscles confused and mix up your calorie intake also, confusing your metabolism. My surgeon and nutritionist wanted me to go from 1200 calories one day, 1000 calories another day, then up to 1500 calories another within a week and I must say by the end of the week, it worked! See what your surgeon says and what your nutrionist say but DON'T STRESS!... your hormones will feed into it!
You've been doing wonderful so far on your journey but remember ,it's a rollercoaster ride. There are lots of highs but there tend to be dips and bumps along the ride!
Take care! and let us know how everyhting goes!
HUGS!

all the weight has been lost post-op..I LOVE MY BAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
highest weight: 333 pounds (I know I gained after my last "weigh in" in the doctors office so probably it's more like 340 pounds)
current weight: 151 pounds (7/12/11)
I've been at goal (165 pounds) for 6 months now and now on maintence. I tend to go up and down depending on time of the month and such!
I try to explain this to hubby and he just dont get it sometimes lol.
I did take my measurements this morning and I lost 5.5 inches this month most of that came off my hips :o) The tape measure could never touch each other when I measured my hips and about 2 more inches the tape measure will be touching each other so Im very happy with that, that alone made my day this morning :o)
Water *sigh* I will admit in all honestly I'm horrible at my water. Some days I'm lucky to get in just 60 oz and then other days I might get in 65 oz but it's cutting close . I do know I need to work on that big time.
Thank you for the reminder on that :o) do you all count Ice Tea as water intake or do you count just plain ole water ?
Kate and you are so right !!! fills dont make us lose weight at all. I knew that all long but I guess I was starting to reach for things . Get a fill you will start losing weight again and that just isn't how it works unless you are overeating and I know that isn't my problem. I needed to hear that again to bring me back to reality lol.
Thank you all so much for your advice, support and love it means the world to me . You guys understand and you all get it and that helps very much.
I called my doc today and made a appt with NUT and printed out all my meals that I have been doing , along with the nutritional values and see if she sees something I might be over looking and get some advice :o)
((((((((hugs to you all )))))

Also make sure you are doing the following...
Use a measuring cup to measure your food portions for accuracy.
Make sure you get your water in...64 oz per day and are drinking nothing with calories.
Log your food as you eat it to ensure that you are being 100% honest with yourself...log every bite.
Try drinking some green tea a couple of times per day...tea is a diuretic and can help you shed those "water pounds"
If you aren't hungry for at least 3 hours following a meal that is primarily dense protein, you really don't need a fill and getting one could be a mistake...sometimes with the band, less is more, when it comes to fills.
Plateaus are a normal part of weight loss...I find that my body likes to stall in the old "comfort zones", for me it has been about every 10 lbs, I stall for a while. It took me a long time to get this way and it may take a while to undo it, lol.
You'll figure it out...think of it as a puzzle, but don't change things up too often or you could miss something!
Let us know how it goes!
