I just read this blog or article.. not sure what it is... but I found it very raw, truthful and inspiring.  Just loved it.  Just a quick blurb about me... I've been lurking for months here... hoping to be banded some day.  Going to my second seminar on the 31st of this month.

1st glad to see you are posting and not just lurking!!
I agree being too tight is bad, not just for weight loss, but for the band, itself. You will be hungry pretty much, all through the day and eating too many calories. I believe it may lead to slips and other health problems, too. Thanks for sharing! Good luck on your weight loss journey!

This is something we vets are constantly emphasing, it is just plain dangerous to be too tight. A few folks have ignored our advice and have had serious and dire consequences such as losing their bands and causing damage to their stomachs. This is very serious and should always be brought to your docs attention.

Glad to have you with us and posting"! And this is a very helpful post!

Not only does being too tight not help weight loss long term, it has also been shown to be one of the main causes of slips (Stroh and Monger 2006). And anyway - I didn't get my band to be miserable! I got it to be "normal".

As Hislady says, we vets lose count of the number of posts we read in which people say they have struggled with tightness, been miserable, ended up with total unfills! Not worth it!

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,
