I'm just a few days shy of 3 years out and am 20 + pounds heavier than when I went in for my consult, 30+ heavier than the day of surgery, and 60 +- pounds heavier than my post band lowest. I have been WAY overfilled, not filled enough, and so on. It DOES get tiring. Not to mention stuck episodes on the most rediculous of things (some days applesauce doesn't even want to go down...and I am at 3cc in my 10cc band). The band didn't help me much, and I am not expecting it to in the future. I've settled with the fact that I gotta do it myself. No insurance and no money to attempt anything else. (Honestly, I don't know if I would put myself through another surgery) I wish you the best of luck with your weight loss...no matter how you do it. The band works great for many, but does NOT for many as well.

Hugs! I know how u feel! I have been quite surprised by the number of ppl that say they don't reach their "sweet spot". I can't beleive that so many Drs. let ppl go through the surgery like they do w/o telling them that they may NEVER reach it! Kind of an important detail!!!

My band has been a complete waste of money! I now need to revise also and can't afford to b/c of all the money I wasted on the band! :-(

Sorry about your troubles with the band.  I wanted to be at goal a couple of years back but have not attained that wish.  However in defense of my decision to get the band, I was not deceived.  In the classes before being banded it was explained that everybody does not work well with the band.  We were even told of some complications.  I was well informed that the weight loss could be slow and even the surgeon told me that another type of surgery would probably work better for me.
However now I choose to spend my money on vacations instead of fills and I choose to stay loose so that I can eat fruits and veggies in their solid form rather than mushie.  This costs me as I can eat too much on occasions.  However it is my choice.  I feel that my band keeps me from getting way out of control and that's what I want more than to be at the previous goal weight set for myself.  Would I still like to be smaller, look better  YES.  But I will be content to lose like a snail and enjoy more foods w/o getting stuck but continue to lose.
Wishing u the best of success in your revision.

I'm so sorry that you've had such a hard experience. I think no one can truly know whether it will work for them until they have it done. I have a friend that had the sleeve done on the same day as my lap-band and she has alot of problems with GERD and heartburn ever since, so I urge you to talk to your doctor and surgeon about that alot beforehand. Good luck on your revision!

Experienced a leak in my port, and had no restriction for over 9 months. Had leak repair surgery on 1/31/11 and am back on my journey again! :)
