lap band and smart phone apps

I just got an iPhone and have found a few apps available for purchase for lap-band patients.  I was just wondering if anyone else has used these apps and found them helpful.  The ones I found were:
1) My Band Fill for $3.99
2) Band Genius for $4.99
3) BariMate for $7.99
I would really appreciate any feedback any of you have on these apps or any other apps that you have found useful during this process.
Thanks,
Jamie

Interesting...I wonder what they really do?  Maybe you can log your fills or something?  Unless there is another platform in the app to also track daily food/liquid/vites or something else useful, I'm not sure it would be worth it?  I'm all about apps and very curious...keep us posted! :)

I optimistically loaded a couple of apps to track me as i went out walking/running!

But I can't really think what apps with those names woudl do! Log fills? I can do that witha  pencil in my diary!

For those that journal (I don't) there is an app for that!

They each seem to at least track weight loss, fills, BMI.  One will even graph your progress into a PDF for you to view.  A few offer recipes and tips as well.

Not sure I could be bothered! But I'm not really into recording things.

But they are cheap enough to risk having a go if they appealed to you.

I was curious, what has helped you to be successful (besides band) since you do not track your food?  I hate writting down everything I eat, I just dont want to be in the middle of something and stop to write down what I ate and then have to get back on track with what I was doing.  I use sparkpeople to track it but sometimes I forget to add something and Im afraid maybe I will mess it up.  Lately I will log some in online and others I write down and forget to add online.  I will get better at it, things have been busy lately, but I was just looking for advice.  I have been paying closer attention to carbs/protein in and if it is what I would consider to be too much then I don't even buy it to avoid temptation later.

First of all, I really do know nutritional values of foods - not as in counting but as in knowing what is high / low calorie, what contains high fat, what contains protein. So when I talk of healthy choices, I know what that entails.

I lost all my weight by simply making healthy choices about 80% of the time. My band helped me keep the quantities small, I controlled the quality. On those days, every few weeks, when I did a check, I always found that I was getting about 1200 cals and 60+ gm protein.

I am not alone in my approach. We have to do what works for us. If I tracked everything, I would think of food all the time and that was what got me fat in the first place. But other people need the discipline of tracking. I needed to reduce the importance of food in my life - counting would, for me, lead to obsession.

I haven't tried any, but please let us know if you try them.  I have been keeping track of all my protein, fluid since surgery.  If I didn't, I don't think I'd get all my protein in for the day.  I bought a small notebook to keep in my purse.  However, I'd really rather use my iphone.

I use the "mynetdiary" app free version for my iphone (someone else suggested it in another post a couple months ago). It's the BEST!!! It tracks everyting from your daily protein, calcium, fiber, iron, fat, carbs, etc. I really love it and it's easy to use. It'll also give you a breakdown on how much protein and calories you should eat daily if you want to be a certain weight by a certain time. Of course I don't follow that as I can't nearly eat the amount they're suggesting, but it's a great way to make sure your staying on track. Also you can search foods for their nutritional value to add to your daily meal. I've found that the majority of foods I eat can be found in the search. If not, I add it and it's there forever. I didn't purchase the "pro" version as the charge for it and I don't need any more bells and whistles as the free version works just fine for me.
