Im in process, just received approval letter and to site
Hi, Im just starting my journey into wt lost. My husband and I are doing it together, well he is going first. Surgery hasn't been scheduled yet. The Dr. tells you all this stuff to expect, but I just want to know from someone who has had the surgery. This is a really great site to help go thru this...
VSG on 03/25/16
Welcome to you both. Congrats on getting your approval
Lapband - Jan 2009 weight goal reached with lapband. Revised to VSG- 1/25/16
Congrats on your surgery :o)
Another lady was asking the same question and here is my response to her :o) If you have a certain question that needs to be asked just ask away somebody on here will answer it for you :o)

~The Dr. tells you all this stuff to expect~
I'm kind of thinking maybe he doesn't? Most Drs. don't tell patients in advance that some ppl NEVER reach their "sweet spot". I am hoping that your Dr. really is more honest with you though.
I have had 16 fills so far and still no sweet spot! :-(
Hope u have better luck!!!
Congrats on your approval! You will both do great because you are doing it together! I am so glad I got my band 9 months ago. I'm not able to exercise much because of my back and knee problems and have lost over 65 lbs total, all but 10 lbs post-op. I've gone from a 24-26 to 16-18 and feel so much better. Most of my co-morbidities are resolved (all but hbp).
Good luck and keep us posted on your progress!

Thanks. I can't really execerise either. I had a neck injury and surgery in 2009 (cervical fusion). Now Im not able to work. I do water exercises and its great. Im a lil slow with it. Walking is difficult for me bc I deal with chronic pain in my up body. I thinl if I can get some of this wt off me. I can feel better. I glad to hear that I could get off of alot of this medicine. I hope your HBP gets better and CONGRATS on your lost. Hopeful I get there once I have the surgery. Thanks again and I will keep you posted.
Hi there Veenie!
I accepted your friend request! Thank you!
Water exercise is great! I too am unable to work and was devastated when my back caused my disability rather suddenly in early 2007. I loved my job as a Starbucks store manager and mentor to other managers. Prior to that I owned a restaurant for 12 years and both of these occupations gave me a lot of social interaction, which was great. I had a great NSV (non scale victory) a couple of weeks ago when I actually walked a mile on the treadmill at 2.9 mph. Huge milestone and would not have happened without my band assisted weight loss.
My HBP is better...my diastolic is in the 70s now on meds, but the systolic (top) is still running 140-150. My resting heart rate is in the 60s now vs high 70's before surgery.
You will do great! I look forward to hearing about you and your hubbie's success!
Steph
