Too tight?
Had my 3rd fill last Monday. I started the next day with lots of gurling in my throat whenever I drank or ate. a slight bit of acid reflux when I lay down. Last night I got stuck twice on food. I can drink fine though except the gurling. I called the doc and he said he will do a slight unfill today but I am not losing much so not sure if I should do it.
If you are having all them problems then I would get a slight unfill . If you dont and let that continue then you will be back in the operating room getting the band taken out of you if it has slipped and cant get fixed by a complete unfill.
That is nothing to mess with right there you got all the signs of being to tight .
How much are exercising ? and how many calories are you taking in a day and how many carbs are you taking in a day ?
That also might be a problem as to why you are not losing very much also .

I have heard and been told patients want as much restriction as possible to lose the weight. However too tight is a bad thing and can cause more problems rather than helping. Do the unfil and try it for a bit. You can always have more added later if you need it.

Safety first! The band is a tool!
You are the awesome human eating and exercising to lose the weight. We all want to lose fast, but hey think of how wonderful it will be to lose the weight and not damage any part of your body!! Also my Dr recommends that once stuck, liquids for 24 hours, then mushies 24 just to maintain a healthy band area. Good luck to you!

Wow I am going for my 2nd fill this Monday - I'm not sure if I need it - my food intake isn't really restricted but I am full most of the time (head hunger is an issue) so I am going to go and chat with the surgeon and see what he says before I/we decide to move forward. How many cc's did you go from your 2nd fill to this one? Was it a huge increase?
Sapphire,
If you can got at least 3 hrs or more then you dont even want to get a fill because that might make you to tight and then you will be making that call to go back in for a unfill so be careful :o)
There are some days I will get hungry like at 2 hrs or 2.5 hrs but the way I look at it , a little hunger dont kill nobody lol .
but 90% of the time I can go around 3-5 hrs .
If we go that long without being hungry my doc will not do a fill even if you ask for it . Head hunger is my problem also sometimes and it can be easily confused with physical hunger . I hate head hunger lol

Thanks for your post. I don't believe I need a fill as I am full most of the time, honestly. I have trouble drinking even an hour after I eat because I always feel full...my "fullness" comes from like what I think to be the "lower" part of my stomach area - so stupid question - but, is that where you feel full? I'm just concerned maybe there is another issue at hand? I can definitely go meal to meal (with no snacks if I behave myself - if I snack it's NOT because I am hungry) for 3-5 hours if not more...
that is about where I feel full also and I dont drink till about a hr or so after I eat also . there are times I will drink at 30 min because I ate something to hot lol.
If you can go meal to meal without no snacks then you definitely dont need a fill you are doing a great job :o)
You are right in that range of hour time as me . snacks I do really good during the day but nights man oh man that is different story and weekends !!! I dont know what it is with weekends but I want to snack all day for some reason lol.
I hate weekends lol.
I snack to and Im not hungry either I am trying to break that habit myself , its hard though !!!

Okay thanks I will heed your call and not go for the fill - I knew I was bordering if I did it but just unsure...I "think" I am just really getting the "band" if that makes sense and the actual control of the hunger has really recently just kicked in so it was kind of odd, if that makes any sense. You are right, we are completely there together on how we eat/feel - so good to know I am not alone LOL! :) I have been doing better on the snacking because I have felt so full but still have that desire...I keep sugar free popsicles handy all the time as they are very lo cal and go down easy when you feel you have to have something! Thanks for the info - much appreciated your "wisdom" from this end! Have a great day!
