Wish me LUCK........

Okay, I have been exercising like a crazy person for months and months.  In addition to walking I added the 30 Day Shred to my workouts.  I'm getting stronger and I'm in much better physical shape.

When I first thought about goals before my surgery, I put down on my list, to climb to the top of the climbing wall at the Climbing Gym.  I have never climbed before.  My DD has been climbing for years, and works at Climb Iowa.  She taught me to belay sp? for her and that meant I had to be seen in public with a climbing harness on.  That took a lot of guts for me to do that and I lived through it.  No one laughed at me!

So .....  today I'm going to TRY and climb to the top of the wall.  I know I won't fall and get killed, but I'm a little anxious.  Will I make it to the top?  Will I be able to let go at the top?  I'm making my DS go along to take a pic if I make it to the top.  He climbs also.

So wish me luck...........

You can totally do it! I started climbing a few months before my surgery and it only got easier so I know it'll be no problem for you. And wow, you're so brave to belay your daughter cause those harnesses don't look good on anyone! I was so excited when I fit into a normal women's L harness for the first time. I'd had to buy a men's XL to start with.  Please update us with how it went. Indoor rock climbing is one of my favorite things and it's a great workout. It'll probably be easier for you than other exercises (remember it's all about your legs, for real.) Hope you're not afraid of heights though ;)

Highest Wt: 274 / LAP-Band Low: 180 / Sleeved at 233 / Goal: 160!

Good luck, Kristi!  I have no doubt you'll skeddadle right up that wall.  If not today, then soon, but I'm betting you do it!

Kristi,  given your tremendous success with weight loss and the exercising 'like a crazy person' I have absolutely no doubt that you will successfully climb that wall.  Keep us posted, ok?  Karol

I can't wait to read all about it-- climbing is on my 'bucket list'.

It sounds like fun -- let us know how it goes!!!

You are amazing!
