I think it is just another word for what we refer to as a slip. Jean gives a brilliant expalanation for that on the link which has been posted above.
A minor slip can be repaired by a total unfill.
Hope this is the case for you.
But if you felt right until your last fill and then things started to hurt, could it not just be that you were over-filled?

Thank you for the replies. I don't think it is anything serious because I was eating and drinking fine. I did go about 2-3 weeks of it being hard to eat so I got a .25 unfill on March 8. I was fine that day and Wednesday, but I woke up Thursday, and I had pain under my ribs. It would radiate through my back when I laid down so I thought it could be gallbladder or something. I went last Friday, and he completely unfilled me, and I felt like I ate like a pig :). I also got heartburn from drinking tea so I knew something was wrong. It too****il about yesterday for my ribs and insides to quit hurting everytime I did something so I think I may have irritated my stomach or something from eating too much over the weekend.
I don't think I would get a different surgery or anything because I am at goal only 13 months out, and the band has worked great for me. Thanks again for the replies. I go back in 2 weeks so hopefully everything is okay.

That is what the doctor told me on Friday that if the pain is radiating out to both sides (gallbladder he said would have only right side pain or something) then that is a sign you are too tight. But it came on all of a sudden overnight. I was fine the day before. He just told me yesterday that I had been tight for so long. I will ask him more about it when I go in two weeks.
It sounds like you have a slip. Fortunately most slips will resolve with an unfill and a few weeks of rest. Have you been ill with stomach flu or a bad cough? Those can cause your band to slip if they are severe and prolonged.
I am surprised you were filled again immediately! Perhaps it is just a small slip???
Keep us posted on your progress....

Nope I never had any signs that I have read are an indication of a slipped band. I haven't been sick or anything. I did make myself throw up about a week and a half before this started because the food wouldn't go do, but I was fine up until last Thursday. No problems eating or drinking. It just came on all of a sudden.

As I understand it, a prolapse is when the pouch above the band becomes 'loose' or flaccid.
It is like what other people call a 'slip' --- the band does not move, but the stomach lining migrates up above the band.
It is normal to remove some or all of the fluid -- and give your body time to try to heal itself.
I sugges you eat SMALL meals --- eat frequently if you have to, but the last thing you want to do is to overfill that pouch at this time.
Your pouch needs to be 'babied' -- and allowed to heal.
Getting food stuck (for no reason) is a sign that you are too tight. Unless you can clearly point to what caused the stuck episode (too big a bite, or eating too fast), you should not be getting stuck.
Good luck -- I hope that the swelling/prolapse settles down by itself.
