New Member and questions about Prolapse

Hello to you all. I am new here. I didn't know about this site until I found it searching today. I do have some questions about a possible prolapse.

Late last week when I woke up, everything I ate or drank hurt going down so I went to the doctor last Friday, and he unfilled me all the way. I finally went back today to get a fill under fluro to make sure everything was okay. He wrote down on my file some word that started with a 'c' and then prolapse, but he only told me I had been tight for so long, and I needed to let my stomach rest. I go back in two weeks, but he put 2.8 cc in there today. What is a prolapse, and will my band and everything be okay?

The thing is I didn't feel tight, and I was able to eat good until my last fill at the first of Feb. He told me to eat slowly and not to overeat. That is hard because I feel hungry because I don't have much fill. Also, my year of "free" fills was up in Feb., and of course, this had to happen after the one year. It's okay I guess. I just want everything to be okay with my band.

I have a Realize band, and I would have food get stuck every once and awhile, but I never had trouble getting liquids to go down, which I've heard that is a sign I am too tight.

Jessica I wanted to respond since it seems your post is getting ignored. So sorry your having band problems. It seems like someone different is posting every day on here about a band problem. Sometimes several a day! :-)

Have you considered revising to a more effective WLS?

Maria, please try to be supportive rather than negative. This poster does not need to be told to revise. She is asking for our experiences.

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Good grief...a post with a question about a what her doctor said and having hunger...and you are already advising her to seek a revision rather than suggesting possible ways to remedy this alternatively??  I know you have problems with yours and I am so sorry you are dealing with it (I also had a failed WLS (RNY) and revision so I really do get it of all people), but simmer down a bit please with these comments on this type of post.  TOO AGGRESSIVE.  You have to take a step back and realize this...really.

Okay...I'm going to stick my neck out and suffer the consequences.

No one was IGNORING the OP...rather than suggesting an expensive, painful, second surgery, with additional risks, wouldn't it be prudent to suggest an unfill and wait and see??  You know that slips can self-resolve without surgical intervention most of the time.

No one was ignoring her? Then why did her post go for over 4 hrs. WITHOUT a response?! No one bothers to help her and then when I respond everyone wants to jump all over me??? Whatever!

[ig-nawr, -nohr] Show IPA –verb (used with object), -nored, -nor·ing. 1. to refrain from noticing or recognizing: to ignore insulting remarks. 2. Law . (of a grand jury) to reject (a bill of indictment), as on the grounds of insufficient evidence.   Use ignore in a Sentence   See images of ignore   Search ignore on the Web

1.  overlook; slight, disregard, neglect.

I don't think anyone overlooked, slighted, disregarded or neglected the OP in not replying within your stated expectations.  I guess you are the forum monitor now, in addition to being CEO?  My time stamp shows the post at appx 6:30 pm PDT...we on the west side of the country are having dinner, catching up with the events in Japan and generally paying attention to our families.

Perhaps you should address the real issue we had with YOUR response in suggesting immediately that a revision is the answer along with all of the associated risks, pain and expense!

No it appears YOU are the monitor! You seem to want to critique everythink I post on here.

My post was valid. THere is no reason for it to be addressed. I responded when no one else would. Then I get trashed for it! LOVE THE "SUPPORT"! ;-)
