Lisa that sounds so good!!  I love having spaghetti squash too, instead of noodles...I haven't had surgery yet but when I did Atikins/Weigh****chers, I did this, I could still have my "spaghetti"!!  Very good ideas!!

I could eat anything I wanted, until the last month.  Now rice is a no-no.  Had pasta last night, got stuck.  No more rice or pasta.  Boy will I miss them.

Hi. I am in the early stages of applying for lapband surgery. My question is, if you get stuck, how do you get unstuck? Must you have an unfill?

usually after the pain and sliming ...u will eventually throw it back up....not like a vomit(stomach juices) just what is in your pouch.....u will learn what you can tolerate as you get restriction....i havent had a fill in 6 months and i get stuc****assionally...usually because im starving and i eat to big of a piece or i eat to fast....however sometimes it doesnt matter....but ive seen some here need a slight un-fill because of swelling .......and pasta..i can do angel hair when i cut it up ...i only have a little ill make my sauce extra thick with lean ground meat or pork....i can not eat bread with my pasta...thats a sure stuck episode for me......so i dont even try ..

I am careful with it.

I made chili last week, and added a box of 'baby elbows' to it ---- for a heartier 'chili-mac' -- I used the Protein-enriched pasta.

I also eat a Meditteranean Orzo/Feta/Sun-dried tomato salad that my Safeway makes at the deli -- yummo!

Half a cup is a serving, but not usually for a bandster , that said, I do eat a little pasta once in a while (once per month).  We are Italian and love our pasta, risotto and polenta, but those items aren't really part of our food program, so I avoid them.  Polenta and Risotto are two of my favorites and it is hard to cook it and watch the whole family enjoy it and be happy with one little bite.  Polenta is like pouring cement into my pouch and doesn't work at all...

If I eat pasta it is angel hair (cappellini), pastina or orzo and only 1/4 cup, including sauce.  We make meatballs and chicken sausage when we cook pasta and I will eat that with some cheese and veggies on the side...1/2 cup TOTAL.

If you can eat it, great.  Just make sure you're getting your protein and veggies and don't overdo on the portion.

Mangia!
