Persian New Year on Sunday

My partner is persian, and their New Year celebration is coming up this Sunday, March 21st. Persians celebrate BIG with masses of food. Now obviously I am still in my post op diet and technically I can go on soft foods on Monday. Now, if I replace their rice with mashed potatoe and the stew will have really soft meat chunks- can I eat this one day/ evening earlier? will it harm?
Thanks guys :)

Depends what you mean by soft meat chunks. My experience of Persian and similar food has been that there is often chicken or lamb. Both of these can be rather fibrous; fine once you are used to your band but not when you are learning to eat with it and  not when still on soft foods. And beef is even worse!

To me, soft food is that which can be cut with the side of a fork, and easily cut, not sawn with a lot of effort. You read on here of people eating chicken salad but from what they say they don't mean what we mean by that - it seems to be in mayonnaise, so much moister. So even in the soft food phase, I would be careful of chunks of meat!

Meatballs might be OK.

But I think I might be tempted to just put some nice flavoured juices from the stew on to my mash!

By the way - I suggest you put UK in your signature line or by your name! Otherwise people will get confused when you talk about stew or talk in kilos! Not to mention they will assume you can't spell!!

Just learn to talk in lbs not stone or kilo!  And remember that US dress sizes are lower numbers than ours! So US 10 is UK 12,   US 26 is UK 28! And so on! As for shoe sizes, I have given up with that one!

Are you NHS funded? I was self-pay but the NHS has decided to "take me over". Great!
