HI there and congrats you are about to change your life :o)

I had my surgery almost four months ago and so far not problems I dont get stuck, I can eat anything I want with no problems but I'm also on the loose side to and I will always keep my band that way.

Just remember the band is a tool only it dont make you eat the right foods, it dont make you exercise you have to do them things for you to lose weight :o)

I dont really follow a diet per say.  I haven't given up any of my foods since I got banded. I still eat the "bad foods" but I eat them in moderation now, and how often I eat them sinful foods lol.

I eat around 800-1200 calories per day
I try to stay around 40-50 carbs per day but according to doc I can go as high as 65 to 70
Fat nothing over 50
and protein at least 60-100 grams per day .

Exercise I have become a Zumba junkie lol. I love Zumba.  I do Zumba a hr on Mondays then on Tuesday, Thursday and Sat I do the Curves Circuit with Zumba and I just picked up another zumba class tonight for a hr :o)

I had my surgery at 1 pm back in my room at 3 and home at 7 pm that night.  I was suppose to stay the night but I was doing so well they let me go home early.

Best advice I can give you on surgery day when you get back to your room get your bootie out of bed walk walk and walk when you get tired of walking walk some more lol.

I was out of my bed 15 min getting back and I walked from 3 to 7 pm that night and rested every 20 min in the chair not the bed.

That will help pass the gas out and also walking helps to heal faster also :o)

Now I had no gas pains, or should er pains you might hear about so I really cant help you in that dept . I had a very easy recovery and surgery .

I was back to sleeping on my tummy after 7 days and back to normal activities in less a week .  I had  no pain from the surgery . The only thing is my upper stomach felt like I dida million sit ups other then that it was pain free :o)

I would consider sleeping in a lazy boy chair the first 72 hrs. It is really  hard to sit down in the bed and get comfortable so the first 72 hrs I slept in the chair it was just easier that way .

If you have fur babies and they like to sleep with you on the lazy boy chair which my two does lol make sure you put a pillow over your tummy so when they flop down they dont hurt you . I learned that lesson the hard way lol.

I was given a great piece of advice on here when I first started my journey and I live by this rule 100%  Its all about moderation not deprivation !!!!! I live by them words.

I havent given up any of my foods I use to eat . I eat my pizza, I go to Mcdonalds but I watch how often I go to them places and how much I eat of them foods.  I eat pizza once a month now instead of 20 times a month and I eat two slices and Im very satisfied with that.  I go to McDonald's and get their grilled chicken sandwich and just eat the chicken and then I will eat some of my hubby's  or sons fries about 10 of them and I'm happy .

And I do keep my band on the loose side so I dont have to give certain foods like some people have to do , I didnt get the band for that I got the band to help with portion control and hunger issues and that is what its doing for me :o)

If you have any more questions feel free to ask away or pm I will be more then happy to help you out anytime.

Good luck and you will be just fine :o)
