drama

After reading only some of a recent thread with yet another surgery war all I can say to others whom I care about, don't get suckered in.   Everyone has a right to post what they want on any public forum but the only way to handle it is to ignore the person and not to get into the battle.
I think it's what these folks thrive on.   Let the poster put out whatever info or stats they want so they feel that they are informing others that things are not always rosy.   They feel that they are doing there civic duty and are helping others.  So be it.     Let those who want maybe more info from this particular person or want to share their horror stories answer them.   These people KNOW what they are doing and are just waiting for the drama to start yet again.  Don't give them any fuel.    I responded to that particular thread but no more.   Just my two cents.

Actually there was NO need for any drama to ensue with the post I made. I cannot control how others respond. However feel free to ignore any of my post since some of you do not like them. I too would appreciate being able to post w/o all the drama!

This is NOT a surgery war.  You have never SEEN a surgery war on these boards, you weren't a member.  Someone saying they don't like bands is NOT a friggen surgery war.  Posting stats and journal articles is NOT a surgery war.  Not agreeing with you or anyone else is NOT a surgery war.

And starting drama threads about not having drama anymore is drama.

When a member is posting inaccurate, incomplete or misleading information I feel a responsibility to call that member out and post a rebuttal.
When a member is trying to bully newbies out of getting their preferred WLS, again, I will call that member out for that behavior.  There are a few members who have actually PM'd me that one or more of the "usual offenders" make them afraid to post questions when they are new to the board because of this sort of behavior.  That is unacceptable.  This is a forum...

fo·rum

[fawr-uh, fohr-uh] Show IPA. 1. the marketplace or public square of an ancient Roman city, the center of judicial and business affairs and a place of assembly for the people. 2. a court or tribunal: the forum of public opinion. 3. an assembly, meeting place, television program, etc., for the discussion of questions of public interest. 4. the Forum, the forum in the ancient city of Rome.

If all of us who are familiar with the tactics of abusisve posters just blocked or ignored them, then that is the only experienced voice they will hear.

That is why I have unblocked everybody and will continue to set the record straight when inaccurate, incomplete or misleading information is posted, or someone is being bullied into submission...
