Gastric Banding Shown to be Safe and Effective

Thanks Kate!  When the lady posts her "bits and pieces" of "studies" warning us that the band doesn't work, telling newbies 3 days post op "just wait, your band will fail you!", and otherwise uses scare tactics, we need to all post whatever FACTUAL information we have and back it up with links.  We have done this from time to time, but I think that we just need to step it up a bit.

In fairness to maria, she does sometimes post pro- band things! She put up an article once saying that bariatric surgeons would choose the band themselves if they got wls.

I think people get fed up with my tables of studies but i  will keep on posting them!

Hysteria runs rampant sometimes, lol.  There are many medical conditions that require major reorganization or removal of our original parts, medical devices to be implanted and repair due to injury...and often there are complication % that people are willing to take due to the medical necessity of the surgery.  When the general public and insurance companies stop looking at WLS as elective or cosmetic, more people will be willing to take a measured risk because the benefit outweighs the risk... 

Well I am happy with that....I knew there were risks as with any surgery, but overall it seems the results are good with the Pars flaccida approach, which is what I had.

Now I'm blocking the people who were constantly bringing me down with their negative comments!!
