Great, Thanks
Wow.. 3 months post and you are down 40 lbs. Awesome!

I just went to my first nutritionist appt. and honestly, i left feeling a bit confused... my appointment was at the end of the day, and i feel like i was rushed thru the meeting.
Im on a low carb/high protein diet and im up 2 lbs (only been on the diet for a week. So im a little frustrated. Was i 100%..? ... no. But dang, i cut my carbs signifigantly, so im a little frustrated about that.
Maybe im eating too much protein?

Im going for a sleep study next month (to rule in or out sleep apnea) i was told i wouldnt need the cardiac approval because im still fairly young and dont have high BP.

IF all goes well, im hoping for a surgery date in July.
Im going on vacation in June... and lets be honest, thats going to be my last hurrah, so to speak! hahah.

I did the same thing so dont worry . I gained six pounds during week 3 and 5 of post op and it came back off so dont worry if that happens.

Are you still drinking soda ? If you are that could be a reason also.  granted it dont have alot of carbs in it but its liquid calories and lots of sugar .

Just do the best you can and Im sure right before your surgery they will give you a preop diet which is hard but it can be done .

they wanted me to do a sleep study also and I told them no . I am self pay for the lapband though and I came right out and asked the doc what he would do different in the Operating room if I had the study done compared to not having the study done . He said nothing I treat everybody the same.

Sugar IS a carb, lots of carbs.  Sugar filled soft drinks are LOADED with carbs.  One 22oz bottle of Pepsi has 75gms of carbs.

Your Dr's office may just have you eating high protein, low carb, to sort of have you "get ready" for after banding. Basically bandsters diets are like that. Mostly allowing the good  carbs, meats, veggies, fruits, whole grains, etc. Since those are the kinds of foods that keep you fuller longer.
July will be here before you know it.

good point Mari, I wish mine had done that so I could have gotten use to it. .  I knew what I was going to do but doing it and just knowing is whole two different stories.

Mine did not have me do it either. I ate EVERYTHING, before. I knew I'd miss it. LOL
But I had done  the South Beach Diet a few years ago, so had some experience there. Our portions are a lot smaller, though.
