I think ( and the studies I posted yesterday which covered several thousand people over up to 12 years support this) that saying we are "pretty much guaranteed" a second op is an exaggeration.

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Maria, so.....you don’t have both your original band and org port??

I know..........your band is not working.

Yes, this post from me is petty as all get out......but petty with a point. I really have no more authority to speak for you than you have to quantify other folks answer.

Have a great weekend.

Yes, I still have my original band and port. Had surgery last year to reposition my flipped port, and now it's working just fine.

I'm 3-1/2 yrs post op.

No, to both.

I had my original band placed in November 2008.  Had to have the port replaced in August 2010 as it wasn't working right.  Then in December 2010 had to have another sugery to replace them both.

So twelve yes's and two nos so far, with one port flip (fixed and used the same port) and one repositioning for cosmetic purposes, and one abstain.
