For those of you who posted replies to Steph's question and HAVE had followup surgery/surgeries:

WOULD YOU STILL OPT FOR THE BAND?

Given the current options, my answer would be (as I just posted to Steph) a resounding YES.

I think a more important lesson to be learned from that thread, and from other stories that I've heard on here, is that even though sometimes a complication arises, with or without the need for additional surgery, that doesn't mean that "it's over". Many bandsters deal with one of those stat-making complications (or *optional* re-surgeries) and continue with a good band experience.

So true...the people who like to "bash" the band are all or nothing...we choose the middle road.  There are lots of options, even with "complications".

NOPE! But I still love ya all anyway. I'd still come here cause you all are my buddies now. But no way would I go for the band again, simply because it just wasn't what I needed. I needed something with either malabsorption or a small pouch that didn't clog at the drop of a hat.

I super second that with what I am going through!  Your post made me laugh despite my tears leaving my new surgeons office yesterday!

For me yes.

I did not think pre band and I know now post band that this is not a magical devise.  My body is getting smaller and I am getting stronger by the day , because of the 50/50 working relationship I have with Sybil (my band)

I have never been a what if kinda person.  If you are making up your mind because something may go wrong in the future you are not ready for any WLS.

I would do it again in a heatbeat.

I haven't reached goal, but that has nothing to do with the band.  I had issues before the band and they are still present.  I'm working through my issues and I know eventually I will reach my goal.  I'm so grateful for this opportunity to be healthier than I have ever been in my life.
