NSVs and first weightloss milestone!
Morning everyone!
It's been a few since I've been able to check-in here and catch up on the boards. Since my last visit to the boards my weight loss was slowing for the first time since January 04 when I started the liquid pre-op diet. I was stuck at 317 (-47) for about 2 weeks and this morning saw the scale move again!
I hit the 50# loss mark today. I was stoked this morning. Almost attempted to click my heels but my reality set in before trying something that dangerous :) Feeling very good about it. Making better food choices overall and feeling like I've already learned so much in these past 5 weeks! I've been stuck eating out a bit more recently but this hasnt deterred me from smaller portions and better choices.
I've also had a series of NSVs that have made me so happy.
1. When having to eat out--I don't have anxiety when getting seated because I know I can swing most any booths now!
2. I bent over to pick something up and 'accidentally' touched my toes..hadn't done that standing up in quite some time :) When I did it, I immediately stood up and looked around like I had got caught doing something bad, it was a fun feeling.
3. When I lost weight in summer of 2008 I bought a series of dress clothes for my job search. Through both fractured ankle recoveries, I regained all of it and more and couldn't wear any of the wardrobe I had just bought. These past 2 weeks I've been back in that closet and am enjoying the wardrobe I again have access too.
4. I bought a new belt 2 weeks ago and was originally at the 1st or 2nd hole on the smaller sized belt. Today I am wearing it on the 4th hole...sizes are-a-shrinkin!
Such a great feeling. I enjoy being able to share with people who are in situations similar to mine. I appreciate all of you!

Congratulations, you are off to a great start! Don't you love shopping in your own closet? Keep checking it often, though. At the rate you're going, you might accidently skip right over some stuff, and they'll be too big before you even get to wear them! Keep up the good work. BTW, make sure you save a pair of your biggest pants. It's always fun to check out your fat pants after you've lost a lot of weight. Somehow that has more impact to me than the weight on the scale!

So happy for you Steve! Isn't it funny how some things that may seem insignificant to others, can thrill the heck out of us? I can't wait to be able to go into a restaurant, and not worry about having to have a table. I've only lost 23 lbs, but my wedding rings go on easier now, and my watch is a little loose!
Keep up the good work and keep us posted. I love to hear about these "little" milestones everyone is making. It gives me hope.

Congratulations, Steve! Enjoy digging through the closet and wearing those smaller sized clothes, because very soon you'll be needing to replace them! I missed a whole season when I was losing rapidly. I had surgery in November and enjoyed wearing all my smaller sized clothes that Spring, but by Fall, nothing in my "old" smaller sized wardrobe fit. Too Big! It's been fun trying to keep up with my WL. There are so many choices now!
Keep up the awesome job and keep us posted!
