I go for my first meeting tomorrow at the hospital.  I'm bringing my husband too.  He doesnt need WLS but more for help with my decision.

I'm sooo frustrated.  My BMI is 31.1.  I've been on atkins, WW, cut calories, countless other fad diets and even went through a hospital diet for 10 months all to no avail.

I dont qualify for Gastric Bypass so I was looking into LapBand.

I was wondering what type of protein drink do you need to drink?

I'm wondering if I could try and drink that with 1200 cals each day and see how that goes.  I've tried that before and it never seemed to work for me.

I believe most of us only drink protein shakes right after banding. Otherwise we are eating dense protein to keep us fuller. The brand is up to you, I prefer the taste of Unjury which is available on line or EAS brand.
If you qualify at your BMI ,for the band, is up to your insurance co. I know there are some people that had a lower BMI and had the surgery.
I think you need to look into how the band works a little more before getting it, but going for the meeting with the Dr is a good first step.
The band will make you full on less. My Dr doesn't have us count calories. My Dr recommends 4 oz of food per meal,  I could not "keep'" the weight loss off on my own so that is why I picked WLS.
Write down all your questions for your Dr. On the right of this screen, in blue, is some info on the band that may help with more questions you may have.
Good luck on your decision.
