Strawberries.... sigh

Recently had my band drained due to a slip and having to monitor what I eat, however I am enjoying that some of the things that irritated my band I can nibble on....now don't get ready to fuss to much at me ...its not what you think...  its things like strawberries and apples and such as that...

For some reason my band has a fit with them, so I am thinking that now is the great time to enjoy a few of those and "be bad" without really being "bad".....  So today I brought some strawberries... I was sooo excited :)

I took my student to join the regular fourth grade class we always do and I ate my lovely taco meat lunch and then opened my strawberries and started to eat them...a little girl that sat across from me and was chatting to me about the new book she bought ..and then it hit me....  even though it was empty my band was NOT happy about the berries.....

She stopped talking and stared at me....What's wrong Ms Mittens? (It must have shown on my face).   Little girl I had brought with me (that has been in my class for several years, ) looked at me then looked at the other girl and very calmly said...."oh its the berries, her tummy doesn't like things sometimes, and she never knows till she eats what is gonna make it angry."  The first girl scrunched her face and said, "your tummy doesn't like berries? Why do you eat them?"  Before I could answer the second little girl answered for me, ti was soo cute...she said, "well her tummy doesn't like them but her mouth still thinks they are good."

......just keep swimming :)

I am so sorry that you can't eat strawberries, but that was so sweet.  Kids have a way of bringing a smile on the worst of days.  How is everything going with your band, are you ok?

Oh, Swoosh -- I had to giggle because that could be the 'story of my life' for the last 2 years.

My tummy doesn't like several things, but my mouth still thinks they are good!!!!

I don't know how many times my 'tummy has to win' before my mouth (and my brain) will be convinced that some foods I just need to stay away from.

Sorry you and the berries did not get along.

Well see the issue came up when my brain butted into the discussion...I mean, mouth said...mmmm berries....stomach said...umm ya NO.... but then brain (lives up town thinks it knows everything) chimes in and says...but gals...the band is deflated, it wont bother you now....  stomach and mouth being the followers they are at times simply smiled and nodded...and well...  caused the issue :)  but its okay. Its nice to know the band is still doing something even if feels like is doing nothing :)
