I was able to drink about 6 oz at a time with no problem as long as it wasn't super cold. In fact the nurses at the hospital yelled when they gave me the first oz. of shake and I started to chug it. I know they were afraid I'd throw it back up but the only thing that did that was the contrast for the UGI. Liquids are not such a problem. Food at this point is. As long as you are one of the fortunate ones who can get all their fluids in without a problem, just tell your surgeon.

I was like Granny also I was drinking about 6 oz of water a day after my surgery also .  The only problem I had was the protein shakes . I could not guzzle them down like I did the water it would make me sick if I did that so I really had to sip the protein drinks for a good week after surgery then I was fine .

That sounds great! I just had my surgery on Friday and I'm really struggling with the liquids. I can't seem to take enough in without feeling super full. It's a weird feeling-I feel so full, but my stomach is grumbling like crazy. I just keep plugging away. Congrats and good luck!
