2nd fill unfilled

I had my first fill in December 2010 I thought 3cc's were put in. nope.  Had my second fill this past Friday wasn't sure how much i assumed 1cc. nope. i really need to remember to ask.  Well today i went and had an unfill because it hurt to drink and i knew that was bad. I went all weekend with pretty much nothing but what little water i could tolerate. My Surgeon got me right in. I lost 5lbs since Friday not a good thing. So after a few mins of adjusting the band he said i am very sensitive. I finally asked today as of Friday i had a total of 2.75cc's I left his office today with 2ccs. I am now able to drink with no problem and i got to eat some soup. I am a little down today I am starting to wonder if i made a mistake with the band. I have read so many post and people have 4, 5, 6cc etc...in their band. I am worried that 2 is not going to give me the results i want. Sorry so long just needed someone to whine to, because my husband is done listening to me lol

Sounds like your doing wonderful!  You are at restriction with only 2cc's!  Whats wrong with that!  Everyone is different. I know of someone so sensitive they never needed a fill and others that have 10cc in a 10cc band.  My surgeon explained that the band is put on top of a nerve that signals satiety to the brain - that nerve is more or less sensitive for everyone.

Wait a day or 2 before trying solids again - ur stomach is swollen now - let the swelling subside but continuing liquids and soft foods.  Then try solids on Wednesday.  Are you taking tiny bites and chewing to mush?  Protein first? Dont drink with your meals.

Good Luck!!

I didn't think it about it like that. I was just thinking it wasn't enough. Thank you I already feel better.   tiny bites yes, protein first yes, I do not drink with meals.

I would have died for restiction at 2ccs.  I have 9.9 ccs in my band and that took my a year and half to get to this point.  I know the whole being too tight is unpleasant but look now you are fine and you have restriction!!!  My first fill I got 5 ccs and I had no restriction at all...not even a little bit.

2 ccs is enough for you apparently...don't worry about the others and count your self lucky.  Good luck with your weight loss but I'm sure you will need no luck.  : )

It really depends on the size band you have.  I am 7 yrs out and had 4or 5 fills all together.  I have 2.4cc in my 4cc band and haven't had a fill in 4yrs.  I've had tiny fills before of .25cc  I'm assuming people getting 4, 5, and 6cc have the larger bands.  Do you know which size band you have?

My band hold 12cc's my surgeon was sure i wouldn't need anywhere near that I guess he was right.

There are people for whom the band works without fills.  You may be one of those people.

Tina,

I have a large band and my band is empty I have nothign in mine and I can go three to five hrs without eating or at least physical hunger.

I was just lucky that right out of surgery its been that way for me and I have lost 40 pounds in three months :o)

The longer I can go without fills the better off I will be in the long run imo.  When I really do slow down or get closer to goal that first fill might be enough to get me where I need to be .

But, as of right now the doc told me with me losing 8 pounds every four weeks and not eating for at least 3 hrs he is scared if I would get a fill it would be to much and I would be to tight.

I havent asked for a fill but he wouldnt fill me anyways even if I wanted one .

It can be done with as little as you have  :o)
