What is everybody scared to eat since surgery?
Revision on 08/21/12
Oh yeah, down here we eat high on the hog, (jowls, feet, )chitlins' and chicken! NOT! However, my early years as a picky eater I developed a liking for chicken gizzards but no other part. Now I prefer "the others". The fried ones are better than one would think but no how no way are they band friendly. On the other hand, we are taking our once a year to New Orleans trip and our favorite place there serves fried gator. I am going to gingerly attempt a small part of appetizer. Yum.
December 2009 I had a hotdog.. it was good, so I had a second. That was a mistake.. one good, two not so good. Didn't get stuck, just hurt for a while.
Had a low-fat hotdog this past Sunday night, on a slice of bread with light mayo and mustard. Went down fine. Stopped at one. The low-fat hotdogs are more tender than regular dogs, that might help if you want to try one.
I get a craving for diet coke about every 3 to 4 months and will pour an ounce or two into a coffee cup and sip on that. I'm NOT recommending anyone do this, but I have no issues drinking a tiny amount on rare occassions. If I find myself drinking it more than every few months, or more than 2 ounces.... I'll cut it out completely.
Had sushi a few months ago, I just took about half the rice off and ate the inside.
There's really nothing I'm afraid to try.. unless it's very dry food. As long as I have something to moisten it.. bbq sauce, salsa, mustard.. something.. I'm golden. :)

I am very adventurous at home and will try anything. While out I stick with things that I know will go down fine.
The thing with the lapband (not so much these days but for the first 15 months) things that went down fine one week got stuck the next week.
Watermelon is too fibrous and I had a horrendous stuck / slime / pull of the side of the road/ while Hubby was in the passenger seat - not knowing what to do episode ( Oh fun times in the beginning)
One thing I have learned is do not get in the car straight after eating. All that movement tends to bring it back up for me. I need to wait a good 15 - 20 minutes before getting back on the road.
