My new name should be self destructive
Did you go off your BP meds cold turkey? My doc did that to me once and I ended up in the hospital. I will never change meds again so abruptly. Especially BP. I thought extended release would be better for me, and even just that change of the same med to extended release made me sick. I think it is better to wean off any medication. I hope you feel better and can get rid of the fluid.

When I had my breast reduction, my surgeon told me to drink ho****er with half a lemon in it twice a day. It is a diuretic and flushes out your system. It worked for me and helped tremedously with the swelling. So now when I know I've had a high sodium day, I drink that. That is usually what I have in the morning when I wake up and then I squeeze lemons into my water w/ one stevia and drink for the remainder of the day! It has helped a lot!
My suggestions, check how much water you are drinking. My happy medium is around 80 ounces. More and I can gain, less the same thing. And remember if you are drinking caffeine, you need to drink one glass of water for every caffeinated beverage you consume.
As far as how much sodium you are consuming, I would stay around 2,000mg and it shouldn't effect you! Remember that soups are big on sodium! Most cans of soup, unless say low sodium have 700-900 per cup and each can contains 2 cups!
If it makes you feel any better, I used to gain 8lbs in a day during chemotherapy because of all the fluid they pumped into me! Thank goodness for Lasix!
