Bummed!!!
Well, I found out last Wednesday that I was denied and will have to wait 5 more months to complete a 6 month supervised diet and then reapply for coverage. I was really wanting to get this thing done and be on my way to a smaller me before summer, but it's just not the plan. I am trusting that this happened for a reason and that God is in control. I will continue to cheer all of you on, and stay involved in this forum until my surgery day finally arrives. Keep up the good work!!

You are right. God is in control. When I applied for the surgery, I told myself if it's for me I'll get approved. Honestly, the lapband is only a tool, the weight loss only happens through the effort of the individual. If you follow the diets given to those with the band, you'll loose the same amounts of weight as one with a band. Weight loss is definetly a life-long journey. This is merely another chapter in your book to a healthier life. I had my procedure at a Bariatric Center as opposed to a hospital I found it was way less red tape. Try reapplying for the surgery through a bariatric surgery center. I don't know why, but they seem easier. Good luck and don't give up.

You went to an inexperienced band mill. Your future was and is in your own hands.

It kind of forces you to wait it out and think through your decision.
Why not investigate more successful and easier surgeries to live with? Seriously, what do you have to lose by reading up on other surgery types?
The band has the slowest weight loss, the least weight loss, the highest regain, and the most mechanical complications. The sleeve is safer than banding long term and far more successful.
So why wouldn't you want to research your options?
Believe me, i know full well the feeling of wanting to get it done and get it done today. That is exactly why I went to MX as a self pay instead of having ins pay locally. But was it the right choice? Nope.
Take this time and learn about all the surgery options. There is more than just the band.

God works in mysterious ways. It could be a blessing in disguise. I would suggest using this time to do a little research on the revision forum and seeing just how many bandsters are revising FROM the band! If the band was that great...........all those ppl wouldn't want to get rid of it and put theirselves through another WLS now would they???
