Ok- I am SICK and TIRED of the scale moving the same 3 pounds up and down and up and down and up and you get the picture.

I have been doing jazzercise 3 nights a week- It's one heck of a workout.  I haven't been tracking all the time but when I do, I'm under 1200 calories per day- and my days are fairly typical.

I bought one of those heart rate monitor things that you wear when you work out to see what you are burning- in a toning only jazz session is was like 400 calories- in the full cardio kick your butt workout it was 1200--- IS THAT NORMAL?

So If I'm burning off 1200 calories 3 nights a week- do I need to eat more those days?  I normally eat a little more, but certainly not 1200 more.

What do you exersizing people do?  how do you know what to do?

Now that you have the heart rate monitor and can see how much you are burning, my guess is that you aren't eating enough and you are gaining muscle. Never let your net get below 500.  So on the days you are doing the full cardio kick your butt workout, you will need to eat more than you are used to. I would suggest a protein/carb rich snack about an hour to hour 1/2 prior to exercise and a recovery protein shake/drink or snack within the hour after the workout to help your body go into the proper recovery phase.

I went thru the very same issues. Except I did the bounce for 9 months. My NUT kept telling me I needed to eat more and I just couldn't grasp the concept. Once I did and kept my NET abover 500 (its usually between 500-800) I started losing again.

Start tracking your food again so you can see where you are at and see if it makes a difference for you!

Good to hear from you. Haven't seen you on here for a while now. I have been going through the same thing for about 6 months now. Hope someone can  help. I even increased my calories like someone suggested. That didn't help. Maybe 127 lbs is all I am going to lose.

On the days I do Zumba I always eat more then the days I dont exercise . I eat around 1200 calories the days I exercise but the days I dont exercise I drop them back down to around 800-900 .

My body is never use to one certain calorie each day I go up and down with my calories every day .  I dont know if you are suppose to do that or what but it keeps me from having a stall on weight loss each week :o)

Do you know what your target heart rate zone is?  Since you have a heart rate monitor I would make sure you stay within your number.  If you go over your zone than you are no longer burning calories.
