Come on LapBand family-come out and share your success!! It' s only natural for most of the posts to be people with questions, problems, needing help and looking for support. BUT let's hear about your success-YOU TOO LURKERS-you know who you are-always reading and never posting.
I LOVE my band-despite the crap written by many on OH, I am one of the many long term success stories. I know there are many of us and I am very guilty of not being here often enough to say that you can have long term success with the band.
My life is so different, I can run around with my kids, ride a plane and actually use my own tray (oh yes it used to hit my stomach and not come down all the way), I love amusement rides and I own a bating suit without a skirt on it!! I have maintained my weight and feel so good.
I look and feel better than I did when I was 20 yrs old. I look back at my wedding pictures and although I was smiling I was so sad on the inside due to my weight. No more I can wear cute clothes and hold my head up with confidence.

I'm still a newbie to all this but Im three months post op have lost 40 pounds and 25 inches in those three months and I have done it without a single fill so Im very pleased about that :o)
Im starting to see small changes in me and my clothes are starting to fee different .
Hopefully, this time next yr I will have 100 pounds off me or that is my goal lol.

Okay first I will forgive you for being a steelers fan LMAO! Your success with losing 40lbs without a fill awesome! Do you have restriction with just the band-if so you are soooo lucky! Keep up the good work!
For me the weightloss was the first step, followed by a period of 2 yrs maintenance, then plastic surgery and now it's just living my life soooo weird for me.

restriction well it depends on who you ask . My one doc not my main doc but his back up thinks I have none that Im playing a very good mental game right now and me well I can eat a cup of food and go for a good 3 to 5 hrs and not be hungry .
The one doc thinks Im playing a big head game so I dont have to get a fill because of hearing people in support group and on here that they cant eat that or this or whatever and have to give up alot of foods and to be honest that isnt why I got the band.
i wanted to learn how to eat properly the right amount of food , how often to eat them foods, when to eat them foods and well just learn the healthy way of eating that is what I want out the band and according to me Im getting that part , but it kills that one doc of mine that I dont get fills because so many of the patients rush and get fills and cant wait to get fills every month and Im totally opposite.
I dont get alot of praise for my accomplishments in support group (which Im thinking about not going anymore ) because I have went so long without fills and I am using my band but Im also using alot of will power in this weight loss journey also somethign I never had before it makes me feel strong and that I can pass foods up or learn when to say no . Its a slow process but each day gets better and better lol.
I told the doc what difference does it make as long as I lose more then the 5 pounds required each month and I average about 7-9 per month so far :o) I feel like by that one doc and in my support group meeting because I can eat foods and I havent had fills that Im doing all this the wrong way and to be honest its made me second guess myself all week long this week *sigh*

Ive been at goal for over a year and competitive body builder. It helps to keep the discipline up and keeps me in the gym. I love my band and my tummy tuck!!!
is what I say to those who write crap about the Band! Nothing is a miracle cure - nothing helps with head hunger and emotional eating. WLS doesn't drive you to the gym. You gotta want it more than you want to be fat! (and take the time to get over ur head issues thats been stopping you for so long)

OMG you are such inspiration!!!!! I also love my TT, but I wish I could tighten up my upper thighs-any pointers?? I totally agree WLS certainly doesn't drive up to the gym or stop us from eating a pint of ice cream lol. Thank you so much for sharing-I love love hearing positive success stories-the newbies need to hear this too!
I just hate my thighs from the knees up. Sooooo my tip here - get those quads as big as possible - that will force the skin to tighten around the muscle and look firm instead of flabby. thats all I got for that! Can't spot reduce other than with a knife :-(
