I had a fill a little over a week ago...Now almost everytime I eat about 15 minutes after I have horrible chest pain...and my upper back between my shoulders hurts. It feels like a have a brick on my chest and breathing hurts? Does anyone else experience this? Im in so much pain right now?

Maybe your fill is too much?  Have you adjusted your food intake to accomodate your new fill?  If you have a 24 hour phone number for your surgeon's office or the hospital where you had it done, I'd give them a call to be safe.  Please post outcome, ok?  Karol

First, how much do you have in your band right now?  How much was this last fill?  Are you eating band friendly foods?  What you could eat prior to this fill you might have a problem with now.  Are you eating 2-4 oz of dense protein?  What did you just eat that is causing this pain?  I have never had chest pain that long after eating something.  I have had this type of pain, thankfully not very often, but it has always been immediately after or even before I was done eating.   Depending on how advanced you are on your fills, it's almost like starting over after each fill.  By starting over I mean clear liquids for the day of fill, full liquids as toleratered for 2-4 after a fill.  Soft foods as tolerated then dense about 5 days after.  Is it possible your eating too fast?  Sorry your going thru this, but I think most of as have.  Good luck, hope this passes soon.  If you have some papaya enzyme tablets try chewing them, it's suppose to help but I've never had to try it.

I just noticed that you are pretty newly banded.  I was on full liquids for 4 weeks after being banded the soft foods for the next couple of weeks.  I'm assuming this was your first fill so maybe it was too much?  Just a thought.

I had similar issues early on -- it was because my bites were too big and I was taking them too close together.  Each fill will be like this -- I had to keep learning and re-learning to take smaller and smaller bites and go slower and slower.

Thank God I found this! I have been having this problem on and off for 2 weeks and it is soooo painful. At first I thought I wasn't chewing good enough but then I concentrated on making sure that I did but eating too fast hadn't even occur to me.
