first day back at work after surgery.. I noticed a few things   one of my chins has dissapeared .. I put on dress pants that I havent worn in two years and they fit, and after my usal walk to the back supply room which is a bit of a walk I wasnt out of breath...  cant wait till I get clearence in about three weeks to resume martial arts training to see how fast I start loosing then.. in the meantime happy with my baby steps..

I think we had surgery about the same time, Feb 18th?  Anyway, I'm back to work tomorrow and actually looking forward to walking into the office in something I haven't fit into in a number of years.  Feels great, doesn't it?  Good luck!

It's all about the baby steps and small victories. That's what keeps us going. Best of luck to you both!

Sounds like you are doing fantastic. A good thing for you is that men usually lose faster than women. You should really do well when you resume your martial arts training. Good luck to you!!

Im eager  but my doctor and family keep telling me to relax  take it slow  knowing im an extremist once I get into training mode.. for now just training my mind and my bites (if you can call soups protein shakes and egg salad biting)  and power walks.. early shift today and i have lots of energy  not dragging ass like i usally do not the morning person,  and not feeling guilty about a binge fest the night before.. really an eye opener now how i was killing myself at night  with my marathon binges...

Congratulations on your victories!

Personally, I think being an extremist will serve you well with the band.  I am type A, with a little OCD thrown in and becuase I tend to be a "rule follower" I did really well with the band and lost the bulk of my excess weight, (104 lbs) in the first 9 months.  I think it's important to capitalize on the enthusiasm and excitement of having this new tool to help you acheive your goals.  I followed my Dr.'s diet to a T and started doing moderate exercise right away even if it meant parking farther away from the store, or walking up the escalator instead of taking the free ride.  I also tracked ALL of my meals and everything I put in my mouth which really helped educate me on nutrition and what certain foods do or don't do nutritionally.  I was shocked at how carbs add up and how much sugar is in "low-cal_ foods, etc.

Work your program to the extreme if that's what suits you!  You're doing great!

Best~

I wa dying to start swimming after surgery. It killed me to wait. But I was good and behaved myself. by not listening to the doctor you can do more harm than good. I know it's hard. But you need time to heal..
