Unpleasant side effect of the band...

.......If (aged 60) you decide to take up cross country ski-ing (first time ever on skis), when you fall over there is no padding of fat to protect your ****yx!  OUCH!

Oh but wait, if I hadn't had a band, I wouldn't have lost all my excess weight and I would never have dreamed of getting on skis!!

Or climbing a very steep mountainside for over 3 kms  in fresh snow as I am about to do, in order to toboggan down it  on a 4.5 km run! We are warned that in order to climb to the top of the run you must be in "good physical condition" - thanks to my band -  I am

Kate (on holiday in Austria!)

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

I wish I were there to watch you!

I've fallen while cross country skiing when I was fat, and it was not fun. Without the extra padding, I'll bet it smarts!

Kate, you really have to get that band under control. It is just ruining your life!

I was wondering where in England you'd go sledding?!?!?  Eddie the Eagle part of your clan ???

Have fun in the Alps, and don't forget to visit Salzburg and eat a mozartkugel :))))

Congrats on missing that extra padding!    Hope you have fun on your holiday and the rest of your time is accident free!

You may lack padding, but remember, the bigger they are, the harder they fall.  I'll bet you made a delicate little snow angel!  Sounds like a fabulous trip.  We want pics when you get back!

No sympathy from me, Kate.  Man simply was not meant to fly down a snowy hill on two wooden sticks.  Just doesn't make a lick of sense.  Maybe that band is affecting your mind, huh?

Kate,  How lovely that you're able to do these things now!  Enjoy your exciting new life.... oh, and Austria too.  All the best, Karol
