HELP! I need to take the feed bag off!!!!!! NOW!!!!!
OK you guys, I need to start my liquid diet in the morning. However, I am eating as if I have never seen food before. I was doing well on my lifestyle changes. It is as if I will never get to eat food again. What am I doing? What am I thinking? I have to be successful at this liquid diet and use that momentum to continue on after surgery. Oh my goodness, I am starting to question myself. I know I want to go through with this, so it is not self-sabotage. What in the world is my problem? I am getting Lap-Band and it is not like I will never be able to eat again. Tell me you guys have felt this way before and what did you did. I am about to print a sign and put it everywhere:

I always go into panic mode when I find out I have to do all liquids for any reason. Its a brain thing and apparently my brain is damaged because I suck at the liquid diet thing. I was never successful at the liquid preop (was supposed to do 2 weeks and ended up doing 3 days instead). And I barely made it through the whole week post op, thank goodness my surgeon allowed mushies within that second week or I wouldnt have made it.
My point is dont be too hard on yourself just trump through the guidelines even if it puts you in a crappy mood and youll be through it before you know it.

Sleeve Revision from Lap-band November 23, 2012
Starting Weight: 236 Lowest Weight w/ Lap-Band: 160 Current Weight: 190
Goal Weight: 150...40lbs to go
I did the same thing about two weeks before my liquid diet I had pizza out the bootie, I stopped at every fast food joint there was eating chips like there was no tomorrow I felt like when I got the lapand I wouldn't be able to eat nothing because I was reading what everybody else was eating on here and thought well might as well eat good while I can lol.
It's not the case at all. There is nothing I cant eat with the lapband I still enjoy my sinful foods but I watch how much of that sinful foods I eat and how often .
My husband complimented me today which made me very very proud that I came out of this surgery a much stronger person then when I went in .
Maybe the doc did something to my brain lol. In serious I took getting the lapband very serious after I had it done , but I also told my doc I dont want this band to dictate to me on what I can and cant eat either that is not why I got the band in the first place . My doc has always stated the lapband is not something that tells you what you can and cant eat . The lapband is designed to keep portion control under control and to stay fuller longer that is all its suppose to do that is it nothing else !! Just remember that :o)
I play a very very strong mental game with myself and its sad it took me 20,000 dollars to figure it all out. *sigh* (self pay)
I knew all long what I needed to do , what portions to eat, what to eat, exercise , drink water but it took the lapband and some scary moments ( my dad ) for me to take it all serious and that is why I am having such a easy time right now with my lapband and skipping my fills.
I know the lapband is around my stomach, I know my pouch will ONLY hold a cup of food , and with that cup of food I can go 3-5 hrs of not being hungry and that is what I do .
A little hunger is not going to kill nobody so if I do get hungry at 2 hrs or 3 hrs I get some cheese and move on , but 90% of the time if I eat my required 20-25 grams of protein per meal then I am good to go for a good 3-5 hrs and there are times I have even skipped meals because I'm not hungry and my doc gets onto me about that . I am very very bad about that especially in summertime cause I'm camping so much and I'm to busy to eat .
You will be just fine its pre surgery nerves you are going through the pre op diet just hang in there and it will get easier I promise.
Keep the determination the will power, do what you are suppose to do , 1 cup of food, exercise !! drink your water and you will see the weight come off :o)
Good luck !!!

I am on my last two days (only had to do 1 week, surgeon had an earlier opening)...surgery is on Tuesday..woohoo! I know exactly how you feel! My last day of food I ate until I got sick! For me it was the best thing I could have done! I didn't want to look at food the next morning! Now, at the beginning of day 2...yah that was another story! I got a migraine and it just made everything awful. Day 3 I woke up with a mild headache, but my doctor said I could take Tylenol and drink some tea or coffee (tea for me). I did and have been fine every since. I have pretty much lost my appetite now. Not sure if your doctor will allow it, but I have put small amounts of fruit in my protein shakes with some ice and fat free milk. Turn on the blender and I sware it feel like I am cheating! It is so filling and yummy!
Hang in there, we all had hiccup's, but it's totally worth it...oh and I have lost 7lbs in 5 days!

I know how you feel. I was eating healthy right up until I got the call that I had been approved for my surgery. The call was on a Monday and I started my liquids the next Monday. At that point I ate everything and anything I could. Especially all the bad things I hadn't eaten in a while. I ate like I would never eat again. I knew I would get to eat again but I kept eating right up until last Sunday night. I'm on Day 7 of 14 and the liquids are tough but I keep the goal in mind and that's more important than eating. March 7Th is my date!!!! Stay strong and good luck to you

Oh yes, I felt the same way with my pre-op diet. I actually felt as if the doctors were punishing me for being overweight by implementing such a strict diet. You have to understand that we got overweight because of poor eating habits that have developed over years. Our mentality towards food is not going to change overnight. I mean, the reason for getting the lapband is to help us adhere to a healthier diet. It's a hard journey, but not an impossible one. Stay focused on the long term goal and take it one day at a time. You will have your good days and bad days. It gets better, trust me. It's worth it.
You are so right Basimaho2. I have had my bad days also in fact it just happened last weekend . I went into total piggie mode last weekend .
All you can do is pick yourself up really watch what you eat the next few days IE carbs , extra water, extra exercise and move on .
That is one thing I have learned going through this also I will never be perfect through this and Im starting to realize that slowly .
I will have many more bad days like I did last weekend , Im human its going to happen but hopefully them oops momements happen less and less as I go along :o)

Fortunately, the liquid diet doesn't last forever.
