Question about Pain on Left side Rib Cage area
If anyone has any input I would be greatly appreciative...
I was banded in April 09. Sadly I cannot say I have been a model band patient. Not much weight loss (only 30 lbs or so) and I've been sitting at around 9.25 cc's in a 10 cc band for close to a year now but I have had no problems what so ever (as far as medical issues****il...a few weeks ago I noticed my left rib cage area has been a bit sore. Not what I would classify as "pain" but extremely sore (kind of like someone hit me really hard in my ribs). I've notice the soreness is more intense after I eat but sore all the time.
I was just wondering if anyone out there has had a similar experience...any possible cause/suggested cures?
Thanks again for any suggestions/comments...

Oh my gosh, so interesting to see this post. I was banded in December 2009. I have been a good band patient, most of the time. I also have the exact same pain you just described. Mine is also sore like you described and more after I eat also. I have 6.2cc's in my 10cc band. I hope someone can give us a clue to what this could be. Sorry I am no help to you:(
The same kind of thing happened to me. I was banded almost 6 years ago, initially lost 60 pounds. Then life happened. I was not ready to deal with my head hunger. I gained back at least 40 pounds. I had not seen the surgeon or dietitian in more than 4 years. I ended up being seen at Beth Israel's ER for belly pain. I was scared I had done something bad to my band. After a CT scan, it was determined my band was OK, and it was just probably pulled muscles. Well, between that and my new need for Metformin (I have a high insulin level which could turn into diabetes), I had my wake up call. I have been the "perfect" bandster for about a month now. I am logging all my food intake on SparkPeople. I bought (and am actually using) a Gazelle, 30 minutes a day. And I am losing. I am back to my love-hate relationship with my surgeon and have a new dietitian to work with. Hope I can finally make my band work for me, instead of me sitting around waiting for my band to perform magic.
I don't know if we're allowed to cross talk forums up on here but I found a few individuals with the same symptoms. Maybe you can take something from their advice. Just a suggestion, by no means you have the same as described in the below link.
