Protein Shakes
We all have very different tastes and what one person likes you may hate and vice versa. I for example don't like any of the ones mentioned above by others and they may hate the ones I love. My favorites for example are Champion Pure Whey chocoloate and Gaspari MyoFusion Banana Perfection.
I would highly reccomend going to vitalady.com and look at her offereings and buy a bunch of her samples. She sells then for just a few bucks each. That way you know what your taste buds like.

I'd suggest talking to the nutritionist or dietician that your surgeon should have working with their practice to get an idea of how MUCH protein they recommend you get per serving.
I've been told that our bodies can't use more than about 20 to 25 grams of protein at a time.. so if you're drinking something with 40 grams of protein, half of it will be wasted.
I really didn't use protein drinks much at all. DH bought me a canister of the Walmart Whey stuff, ended up giving most of it away to a new gal. It was a waste of $$ as far as I'm concerned. I drank canned soup that had been whirled in a blender during post-op and didn't worry about how much protein I was getting for those 2 weeks. And I didn't have to do a pre-op diet (don't hate me).
For what it's worth, I did get samples of Unjury and Syntrax Nectars and they're not bad. I don't remember what the numbers on Unjury are, but Syntrax nectars are usually 90 to 100 calories per serving and 23 grams of protein and 0 carbs.
If you'll write to the folks at syntrax (si03.com is the website, don't remember the email..) and ask about samples, they'll probably give you a phone number to call to get 12 different flavors for 12.00 .. including shipping. Not too bad.
RTD (ready to drink): I like Muscle Milk LIGHT (regular has too many calories for my liking.. and my bariatric nurses agree) in vanilla creme or strawberry creme. It also comes in chocolate, but I think the chocolate has a weird fake taste. EAS Carbvantage (or Carbcontrol.. something with EAS & Carb in the name) is a second runner up in the French Vanilla. The trick to making these taste good is to get them very very cold.
Good luck on finding something you like. But really, you might not need them at all.
