GREAT JOB on the 12 pounds!!    It's normal, please don't stress.       This will happen from time to time. Your body (mind) thinks you are starving, it will hang on to everything it can. Up your protein and take your vitamins. You have to be smarter and be tricky

Hi, Good Morning ( where I am, Boston)  Thanks for the encouraging words.. I am terrified this a.m. as today I start adding "soft solids" like eggs, etc.  My only problem is I don't like most of the "etc." !!  I hate cottage cheese, and actually I had this surgery partly because I have chronic pancreatitis, which is extremely painful, I apparently was born with ducts that were not working right. Anyway, it said "I"m done" at 36 years old ( almost 10 years ago) and everything I eat that needs more bile to break it down, like tough things, salad, vegetables, meats, etc., causes me the most pain.  So I got very heavy after being very thin, from eating only carbs and sugars, which don't hurt.  That's why I don't know what to eat today!  I did call my nutrition person... and yes, I am still stuck at 12 lbs loss, but it's just under and headed for 13 after a little shopping with my daughter yesterday.  Sorry so long a message!!!  ShrinkingDaisy

I hear you!  I have been using protien shakes since before my surgury. I had to see a nutrionist and had lots of protien meal replacements. Check out doctorsbestweightloss.com.
I LOVE the chocolate shakes/pudding mix, banana, & mocha. Those I know u can have during this time frame. They don't taste like chemicals just good!! The protien bars -Fudge graham crisp, chocolate pb are soooo goood!! I still have them . Shakes 100cal- 12 protein
Bars 140-160 cal, 15 protein.
Good luck !!  & let me know if u try them!!

Hi again, you know what, that egg white thingy I made KILLED me!!  I have pancreatitis too, and I didn't do well with them pre-op.  I just looked up protein per egg white, by the way, and there is only 4.7 grams per egg white!  Why bother??  I called my nutritionist who finally called me back, and she really had no ideas for soft solids (week 3 post banding diet for me) !?? Isn't she supposed to know these things? This is a well known, reputable weight loss clinic and hospital... anyway, I am sticking to my whey protein shakes, mixed with one Dannon Lite n Fit, and water and ice.  28 g per shake.  I buy it at GNC.   I can't tolerate any sugar alcohols like maltilol, sorbitol, anything ending in "0l" is a sugar alcohol. And I was having sugar free puddings for snacks a couple times a day, and sugar free popsicles.  I have to read labels really closely now.   Causes wicked bloating and gas...  I have also heard this from other patients/ site members.    Truvia even has erythritol in it.  Too bad I paid $7 before I knew!! Splenda and Sweet n Low I think are the only sugar substitutes without sugar alcohols.  I will have to look for the pudding mixes on that site, and see how much protein is in one... and if they are sweetened by any sugar alcohols.  I love those flavors you mentioned.  For now I guess I will mix up the fat free milk with Jello sugar free pudding!  Week 3 is tough!

Hi,
I just used regular eggs or 2whites 1 whole. As long as u don't eat that 3x a day, u should b ok.
The shakes and bars are wonderful (at least to me).I always have them in my bag along with a shaker bottle.I stick to splenda, I have been using it since it came out. I have a copy of my diet plan given to me at the hospital..If u want, I can email it to you or fax it. Let me know. (It's on my fridge).
good luck again!
