Surgery yesterday

I had my surgery yesterday and I'm doing pretty good.  I was worried about the gas moving into my shoulder but so far the gas is coming out where it should be coming out. LOL  I was also worried about nausea since my dr gave me phenergan suppositories and I was going to have to get my husband to assist me with those but so far nausea has been at a minimum.  Actually only one episode, when my husband was taking my bandages off so I could take a shower tonight,  I just think I had worked myself up and once I calmed down and took a couple of sips of a protein shake I was ok.  Only thing going on now is the soreness.  I'm sure it will improve over the next couple of days.

I wanted to thank everyone for the support and all the advice over the last couple of weeks.

Grats!!! I remember those first 24 hours, I was rarin' to go from the time I woke up, catheter and all, because I was so worried about shoulder gas pain. The nurses said they'd never seen any patient walk that much...but not one lick of shoulder pain ever hit

So keep up the walking, and hope your pain stays under control!

So glad to hear you are doing well. We had surgerys on same day and I am doing great. I also have had no problems from the gas buildup. Been drinking some broth, jello and protein shakes and all is doing good. I think we have crossed our first hurdel and I am anxious to keep moving along. Remember sip, sip, sip and walk. walk walk
