Date set!! Flood of emotions going on
hey all...
Well I am excited! After 6 months pre-op program. I am finally scheduled for my surgery. I am going in on March 16th. That is so close. I started my pro-op diet on Monday. It is really harsh..lol.
My friend told me about this site. So I am excited to read, read, read all of the different questions and responses.
My mother has had LAP Band surgery over 2 years ago. She has maintained her weight lose and even loses some here and there..lol. My neighbor has had it as well and is doing extremely well too. So I am getting to see lots of progress but have known someone that has failed. I know that it was because of bad choices. So I have got to see both sides :)

Good for you! You are on a long pre-op diet, but it will go fast and so will the pounds. I lost 13 lbs in 10 days on my pre-op diet (2 protein meal replacement shakes + dinner consisting of lean protein, up to 6 oz + salad and "free" veggies as snacks). It was amazing and really helped to get me into the correct mindset.
Make sure you have everything you need for your recovery before your surgery. It makes things so much easier! A heating pad and a largemoldable ice pack are handy(helps with gas pain from the CO2 gas and incisional discomfort), along with gas-x and the foods and beverages your surgeon recommends.
We will be here cheering you on and answering your questions!
