Time for another meeting of the Pollyanna Club!
Time to post our latest NSVs, SVs and other wonderful things we attribute to our lap-bands!
Ok...just got back from a trip to Santa Cruz California for our Niece's wedding...my NSVs include;
Everyone that I hadn't seen since my surgery said I looked great!
I got to wear my size 16 Dana Buchman silk jacket I bought in 2001 to the wedding along with a beautiful silk top that is also size 16 and my too big size 18 pants (had to roll the waist up!).
I danced all night!
No seat belt extenders on my flights.
My bathing suit is too big...:)
I walked around the town of Capitola!
Ok....now it is your turn!

Hi Steph! Sounds like you had a great trip. Congrats on all those NSVs that make the challenges of weight loss all worth while!
As for the "Pollyanna" thing, I don't know that I can embrace that concept fully. To be a "Pollyanna" implies being blindly optimistic, ignoring harsh realities. Although I am an eternal optimist, I keep my rose-colored glasses well polished, and my eyes wide open. I am well aware of potential consequences of living with a lap band, but that was a decision that I made, and am happy that I did. Should I encounter challenges along the way, I will deal with them, and if the day comes that I have to part ways with my band, I will not regret having it.
My band helped get me to goal, and has vastly improved my weight, health, and outlook. Right now, the victory I'm celebrating is that even with my lap band completely unfilled, I've managed to lose my holiday weight gain. Yesterday, I pulled out my spring clothes to see what I might need for the warm weather ahead, and all my stuff from last year (and the year before, and the year before) all fit. These days I actually wear out clothes or they go out of style before getting rid of them, instead of having a size change.
So, Pollyanna or not, I'm Livin' La Vida Lapband, and lovin' it!
Tami

–adjective 2. ( often lowercase ) Also, Pol·ly·an·na·ish. unreasonably or illogically optimistic
Tami,
Kate and Jean M started the Pollyanna Club in response to being called that, and it is more a tongue in cheek reference to the way some bashers call us all stupid or uninformed for choosing the band over their preferred WLS. Every now and then one of us will ask bandsters to post their "Pollyanna" experiences just to lighten things up. I agree that we know the potential consequences of our WLS and are prepared to deal with them...I for one chose the band because it was the best choice for my situation and medical issues.
Great job getting rid of the holiday weight gain! Keep up the great attitude!

Size 6 for over 5 years. My recent NSV was I wanted to order some jeggings. The ones I tried in the stores just didn't fit right. So I ordered them from QVC. It took me two days to order because it was so hard for me to accept that my size was small petite. They fit perfect. Even after all these years I still get surprised that I am as small as I am and have maintained that size. Another NSV, sometimes when I go clothes shopping I can't find a small enough size in what I want. I love my band.
