Does anyone use these low carb diets in conjunction with the lapband?
Cant wait to meet the "New Me"  
Highest Weight  : 274lbs

Yes, it's the only thing that works for me. I don't use one of those plans specifically but I lose weight best when I eat nothing white, no carbs other than what you get from beans and nuts.  No potatos, rice, fruit, breads, not even whole grains sadly.


Highest Wt: 274 / LAP-Band Low: 180 / Sleeved at 233 / Goal: 160!

You have to check the protein grams on each item. I have found that the Atkiens bars do great for a quick breakfast bar

lapband in 2008 at 298lbs , lowest weight was 183lbs , Band almost killed me and removed in 2011. No revison because to much damage for revision.

I avoid ALL refined sugar and other sweets like honey/molasses, etc. as well as refined, high-glycemic carbs like bread, pasta, potatoes, rice, etc.  To that extent I guess I follow an Atkins-like plan.  For the first 8 months or so I was eating about 20g of carbs daily and now eat around 50g.  My weightloss has slowed the closer I get to goal but, since I'm doing this the rest of my life,, which is where I seem to feel best.  I'm not in any hurry.  As long as I keep away from the evil carbs and continue to walk every day (about 25 miles a week total), I feel fantastic and seem to be losing 2-4 lbs per month without much effort.
