Hey bandsters..I need your help...I had surgery 2 weeks ago and was following the dietary guidelines given to me by my dr. perfectly..Well, to my surprise, today I am starving!!...I just want to eat everything in sight!!.. thinking it is head hunger, drink water, do some housework, anything to take my mind off of it..but my belly keeps growling... Am I not consuming enough food/calories right now?..I do not have anything in my band, so I expected to be hungry.....but not like this...any suggestions?...anything to get me through these next two weeks till I get my first fill?

Protien shakes in a blender with ice always helped keep me from eating during that time.

1 cup skim milk
1 cup ice
1-2 scoops protein  (vanilla or chocolate)
1 packet sweetner (optional)
and/or 2 TBS peanut butter
and/or 1/2 banana

Will make a big glass of shake.
Good luck!

Jen

try Carnation instsnt breakfast with skim milk.  I had better luck with it when I made it in the blender and made it frothy.

Hi I was banded on 1/21/11, When I was hungry I ate J-E-L-L-O, It was something with the chewing, I also chewed on gum. You should be starting your soft foods soon. Try a little applesauce or maybe some baby food, sugar free pudding. My stomach makes funny noises still. I tell the boy I work with to ignore the noises. They are so loud, its kind of funny to listen to.

Cream of Wheat holds me over longer too, I make it with skim milk.

(I never thought I would eat some of the things I am now eating)

Good Luck,
Kim

Hi All, I am having the same problem and I am 8 days out of surgery. I thought I would be completely full after having the smallest amount of food/liquid. I do find that cottage cheese is helping me a lot because at least I can chew it (sort of). Can anyone give me adivce on on how to eat or drink 4 ounces  in 30-40 minutes?? Thank you!
