First fill, 1 month post-op, and happiness!
Hi All,
It's been a while since I've been on here--I must say I've missed it a bit! Being back at work full time has been nice but very tiring.
Wanted to post an update. I am down to 317# and am happy to be dropping the lbs each week. I had my first fill this past Friday. I did well with it...he put in almost 2cc and I only needed one day of liquids before I was back to my soft diet without any issues. I do notice a bit more restriction and he has me goin back in 3 more weeks for another fill. He thinks I am close to my spot...just wants to get me a little bit closer.
I did enjoy a "doctor put foot in mouth" moment...the surgeon the whole time pre-op wanted me to do the sleeve. I stood my group for the band and he told me "over 2 years its possible you will only lost 80lbs with this surgery." Now..whether he was saying it to be a tough guy or what, I know many banded people who have lost over 80lbs. Some with extensive workouts and others not...its different for everyone. When I weighed in on Friday he said "I may have to put my foot in my mouth a little bit..." when he saw I was nearing 50lbs down he realized I am on track for more than 80lbs of weight loss. It was a good feeling to know I am proving him wrong but also to know I am making better choices for myself and essentially, for all the important people in my life as I look forward to a healthier future and a healthier me.
Starting to near the point where clothes are too big and I am too poor to replace them. Shopping for "fit" is different than shopping for "big enough." I may only have dropped one size and am realizing this!
I've been enjoying the learning and taking it slow. The multiple meals/snacks a day thing is tough, even with the nuts and good stuff in my desks at work...I need to improve that to keep the metabolism rocking out!
Have a great week!
