Pouch Size

I am starting the process to get the lap band.  I didnt think to ask the Dr but since I have been reading these postings I have a question.  Do all lab band Dr's make the pouch the same size?  The Dr I am going to say's he makes it so it will hold 1 ounce.  I noticed that some of you seem to be able to eat more then an ounce of food and are still doing great by the way of losing weight.

Just wondering.

I've never heard of different pouch sizes only different band sizes. All I know is my pouch is supposed to hold 4 oz of food. My Dr adjusts my band by what I tell him, too loose or too tight. If I get stuck on 4 oz, I am too tight, if I am very hungry after eating my 4 oz I am too loose. Good question to ask your Dr. Good luck!!

Keep in mind that food is always passing through the stoma as you are eating, so the amount you can eat isn't necessarily the size of the pouch!

I like visuals.  I read that the banded pouch is the size of a lemon.  It's a great visual and helps me to keep the quantity to a minimal.  If you like visuals too, google visuals for lap-band.  It's awesome.
